TOPIC: 19?? Cadillac Boat....

I am hoping for some help in identifying my boat... i was told it was late 50's when i bought it but the previous registration listed it as 1978. anyone that might recognize it let me know, thanks

Cadillac Marine & Boat Company of Cadillac, Michiagn was established in September 1953 as a subsidiary of Wagemaker Company. Cadillac Boat was closed up around 1962. It was NOT in any way associated with the Cadillac automobile firm.

If the boat was built after November 1972 there should be a 12 character VIN/hull ID on the starboard side of the transom on the outside of the boat. This will give a code for the manufacturer and month and date it was built.

Paperwork such as title and registration for boats is notorious for being inaccurate.

how do i use that to determine the boat?

Baker Jewell Corp and Cadillac Marine & Boat Company were sperate firms, not related. Baker Jewell was located in Alabama, Cadillac was located in Michigan.

Is your boat fiberglass or aluminum?

I believe only one other Baker-Jewell has turned up on this forum over the past few years. That boat was found to be serial number 58006, maybe the 6th boat made in 1958? And your's is the 21st? Check out the posts at the following links:
