TOPIC: 1952 Performer (I think)

I picked up what is a Performer, but the year on the papers (an old registration paper) is 1952. Anyone have any info on this boat would be great. It came with an old Evinrude 25 big twin and a Johnson 35.....both old.

Registration and paperwork has often been found to be inaccurate, can you post some pics of the boat and serial numbers on the motors?

Correction.......After further scrutiny the boat is actually listed as a 1957 Performer with an Evinrude 25 big twin motor. I find the steering wheel on the left side kind of unique as most boats I've seen have it on the right. As by the pictures it's in rough shape but with a lot of work she should be unique, especially in Utah. It has 2 bench seats straight across. I haven't found any pictures to go by to get her back to original condition so if anyone has any idea I'd appreciate it.

Serial numbers on motors are as follows: Evinrude 2501807269 and Johnson: 1586719
|

Evinrude is 1955, Johnson is later 1950's, need model # to pin down.

The hood for the Johnson, if indeed it is a 35 HP, is from 1957 or 1958. It is painted the incorrect colours.
www.old-omc.de has old Johnson and Evinrude brochures along with a deciphering code for the model and serial numbers. Andreas |

Yes, who ever had it before seemed to think it would be cool to paint it to match the boat at one time. The steering wheel has the same colors (among others). Will have to research and get the colors back.
