Took this shot of the shop this morning.
8 boats in the shop.
Two I am working on for others.
The G3 sits outside under my storage area.
There is also 21 Mercs, 3 Johnsons, 1 Evinrude, 3 Kawasaki's, 1 Honda, and a Bridgestone in there too.
Don't ever think you can build a shop that is too big, you can fill it.

Your shop looks perfect. One at a time, easy to heat and maintain.
And easy to keep clean.
Here are a couple shot of that blue boat.
It is a 1978 Sleekcraft Jr. Executive. 23 foot. Long and low. Fun to drive with 12 foot of bow sticking out there.
It had a 460 Ford and a Panther Jet pump. Not too fuel efficient!
Every time you pushed the throttle forward it cost you $20 bucks.
It is getting a small block Ford and a Mercruiser outdrive.
The white boat on the left just inside the door is the donor.
My wife says "Why don't you quit messin' with those little puddle jumpers and get the Sleekcraft going"!
Now how do you argue with that??

No matter how much room you have it seems to just fill up. I cant even really use my "woodshop" cause its really the dining room of my trailer heheh.. have to move everything around each time you switch machines and forget any long lumber. Thus why my boat project is currently on hold while I make a shelter to work in. I'm building one of those "bow" roof shelters with a tarp/plastic over it. Michigan so it has to last thru the winter. Even thats on hold now for this holiday, I decided to try and get as much time as I can paddling my crappy coleman canoe around this week/weekend and then go back to making my shelter. Im constructing the "bows" on the floor between my kitchen and dining room cause its the only large enough flat space where I can screw things to the floor. Once I get that finished the dust is gonna fly though. Cant wait to start rebuilding my boat instead of tearing it down.

Neil,
Now that is one heck of a set up. If I had that much room the wife couldn't complain about what toys I had to work on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: I noticed it is missing something though, you know what that is buddy. ;) Ok, sorry I'll stop.

If you mean the Hydrocraft, it is tucked away back in the corner.
There is a Crestliner lumi on sawhorses blocking its view.

I was late but I knew Bob meant a woody...lol

Man if I had that setup I'd retire and just do boat restores ....actually that is the plan when I can EVER afford to retire.
I hope that there are still some old classics still around by then,

What are those bumpers hanging from the rafters for? To mark where the front of the last boat is when you are backing in?

Well, I missed that one guys. Yes I do "need" a wodden boat.
Those fenders hanging are out of a cabin cruiser. They are a little on the large size for my little boats.
My daughter has an Australian shepherd cowdog and she (the dog) just went nuts when she saw those hanging there. Kooky

Neil (and others), thanks for the shop tour pictures … it is good to see the range of facilities and collections that is covered on this website. From the backyard (I have been there) to the well organized and sized (I am a long ways from there) … they all have a place among this friendly and helpful group!
During the last couple of years I have been fortunate to expand and accumulate … though my wife thinks I should be going the other way . My company office is in a 4,000 square foot warehouse … which I have been filling up. The following pictures are:

1.The 1956 Waconda is the latest, a fishing rig for my grandson. Behind that is the 1958 Sweptside pickup, lots of pieces.
2. Next is the pickup frame sitting on a TeeNee, then a 1950 Pontiac Convertible ... a driver.
3. About two dozen old outboards are stored, ready for Ebay activity.
4. The larger motors go on my next boat projects.
5. My current projects are the 1958 RedFish and the 1960 Glasspar G3.
6. Which will be followed by another RedFish … created from these two that are standing on end.

For a while at least, I have enough projects (and space) to keep me happy. So like Neil says: No Vacancy (unless another bargain comes along). Larry in Boise, Idaho.

Y'all know mine's a mess, but I'm just proud to have a (used to be) two car garage to work in! ;) And the wife has been great about giving up her inside parking, gotta give her credit for that.

I have access to a huge shop but only have one little parking space in it and all of my stuff has to be out of the way when the hay equipment gets back from working.

If it doesnt rain soon that really wont be a problem though.

Fixing up a 10' x 20' shed right now at my new place. Will stuff it with lumber and outboard motors.

Have plans drawn for a new 32' x 72' building. 32' x 32' will be heated and insulated, the remainder just storage. Glued laminated timber pitched-and-tapered curved roof roof beams and columns with 2" x 6" solid tongue-and-groove wood roof decking. I work for a manufacturer of these materials, therefore I can get the stuff for cheap! Hope to get started in about a month.

Sounds like a "Thompson Taj Mahal" in the making, can't wait to see it! (I'd kill for a window AC unit for my garage about now!)
