TOPIC: Club store

Club store 13 years 3 months ago #35702

I recently purchased a 1960 Dorsett Catalina. On the trailer was a small sticker with FiberGlassics name. It is faded and worn and I would like to replace. Is there a store site somewhere hidden in here? Are there other items available? (t-shirt would be nice)

Cool! What dorsett did you buy? Show me a picture of it.. and show me the faded sticker. That'd make my day.

I do have some originals still and could get you another... or we could do something else.

I will get a picture of the sticker. All my photos are too large to submit and are rejected. I was able to find an old photo of the Dorsett from the web. Some members may recognise the boat as it has been to several shows and won awards.

The boat you now own was restoed by one of the finest people I have known. His name is Chuck Raum a retired banker, Chuck had the boat professionally restored and spared no expense. Attached are some photos of your boat at the 2003 Fiberglassics Nationals held in Belot Wi. Chuck is standing in front of the boat in the top photo. Chuck sold the boat I think in 2005 after finding out that he had been stricken with Cancer, he loved that boat and his pride of her was always showing proudly at every classic boat event.

With the boat came a book with extensive photos of the restoration. I also found an e-mail address and have coresponded with Chuck on the boat. It has been well cared for since he sold it always kept indoors and I am proud to add it to my collection. We have used it a few times here on Douglas Lake in TN and would love to attend a show in the future. Perhaps the show where your photos were taken is where the sticker came from.

We are looking at doing some gear for FG users: hats, tshirts, mugs, stickers, etc.

Any other requests?

Not sure if people still use those keychain things that look like a buoy and you put your registration papers in there. Just a thought, Fiberglassic ones.

Re:Club store 13 years 2 months ago #37008

I was on the beach yesterday with my redfish. My girlfriend was sitting on the bow and I thought it would be nice to have a calender of the glassics in use. I think it would be neat to have user photos made into one. Nice clean classy pictures of the old glass on the water being enjoyed. Maybe a few thrown in of a few in the weeds waiting to be revived. Just a thought. Id hang one in my shop.

Also, I make stickers. I didnt want to make any with out permission. But if an addmin would like to disscus I can be reached at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. " note, I will not make them without site owners permission".

Re:Club store 13 years 2 months ago #37034

There seems to be strong interest in having an assortment of items with a logo as shown on the home page.
Please feel free to add to the list and pass on for others to post to.

Stickers/decals
Shirts both t-shirt and perhaps a nice embroidered polo
Beach bag for all your stuff
Soft sided cooler
Mugs
Coozie cups for cans
License plate for the front of the tow vehicle
Embroidered towels
Calendar of boats in action
Burgee

Who is going to take on this project? Anyone out there in the business or know of someone?
There are a few web sites that specialize in promotional material and will even hold all the inventory.
Will the owner of this web site grant authority to reproduce the logo?

i have done calendars the last 3 years and will be doing the 2012 calendar. i will start taking orders in october through
FiberGlassics,Nickle City Classics, and The Classic Boat House. Haven't decided on a theme as of yet. 2009 was classic boats in or out of the water. 2010 was classic outboards. 2011 is classic boat details. an order of 50 is needed to keep the cost down and we have always surpassed that by far. ron

Re:Club store 13 years 2 months ago #37841

We are in the process of making some official FiberGlassics swag.

Initially we want to make bumper stickers, tshirts, hats and mugs.

We would like to give the business to our own members of course and like the idea of "Made in the U.S.A." in addition to "Made by a FiberGlassic Fan".

I have a local source for USA made tshirts that are silk screened, not printed.

We are open to members who have shops or resources to produce these items. Rusty, for example.

What we intend to do is get them wholesale, mark them up a bit to support the site and sell them here in a shopping cart. The cart is configured and ready to go, we just need good quality products to sell. These will have the "official" FiberGlassics logo and possibly some other artwork on them. For example, the tshirt concept is to put a glassic example on the back to show people what fiberglassics are. I'm working up some ideas and will post here.

The hat and mug will probably be just the logo.

The sticker will be like the original one.

Do you have that in a pdf? When I click it I get a jpeg, but it's pretty low resolution. I'd like to print it out and share it if that's OK?

No pdf, sorry.

In the coming months & years, I'll be digging up the old stuff, old meet photos, writeups, magazine articles, etc. and compiling the entire history section of FiberGlassics.

You can always share this stuff.

Kelly & Ken,
I can ask "my" sticker guy, Dario at Garzon Studios to give a quote, if you'd like. Any idea on the number of copies you'd like made? Any chance to get the new logo (at the top of the page) done as well? (Personally I really prefer that design!) ;)

Anyone else want to try it, or supply a better image?

Maybe we can get a copy from the author or publisher?
