Hello All,
The first question I'd like to ask is regarding the massive "spider" like cracks all over the lid. Please excuse me if my terminology is a little foggy or totally off. By Lid I'm referring to the top portion of the boat where it's married to the actual hull. In my case at least a portion of it seams to have been made from a rigid ply wood product and simply covered with what I consider Gel-Coat. I've searched through most of the main forum and can't find the remedy to this specific problem. Might be a common OLD BOAT issue but I can't find the topic, sorry. Anyway, based on what I have found I plan on correcting the issue this way:
A). Aggressively sanding the area starting with 220, 320, etc..

. Filling any unwanted holes with Gel-Coat filler product.
C). Re-coating the entire "lid" surface with normal Gel-coat.
I'm adding some pics of an area with the "spider" cracks and an example of a couple of average size holes I'd like to fill. In Pic # 2 it would be the hole under the toggle switch.
So my question is this. Am I on the right track regarding how I should proceed with the fix?
Thanks in advance.
