Power Cat 18 DC is in the water and running like a top. Both 62 Larks fire right off. Had to replace a freeze plug on stbd side, and once I did that the motor runs beautifully. The 4 blade props make a big difference. Lowered the pin position 1 slot. Both motors winding out nicely. Man what a smooth ride. Amazing how an 8' wide tunnel hull rides. Later guys. Doing this from my BlackBerry and can barely see the print.

Picked up my pair of 62 Larks yesterday. Don't have a boat to put them on yet. Might leave em up here at my Daughters house to save some room. But then again I'd have to move 'em out of the truck...

Yes, the ride is soooo nice.
You have less weight out back than I did running the twin Bearcats.
I liked running mine at 20-24mph and she was nice n quiet at that speed.

Brian, Do you have a good source for Lark parts? Impellers, carb kits etc. Thx, Joe

I get nearly everything from NAPA. There is another supplier in WA state I'Ve used for solenoids, etc. NAPA would be my first choice for everything from tune up parts, impellars, alcohol resistant fuel hose, etc.

Well the motors running well credit goes to chinewalker. He's been doing most of my motor work for a number of years. I've found that before you even think of starting an old motor you start with compression tests on all cylinders. If those pass muster the rest is pretty straight forward. I ship chine walker the magneto plates, carbs and lower units. He rebuilds the carbs with alcohol resistant kits. He changes out all the electrics and inspects and replaces whatever needs doing in the LU and reseals them. In th emean time I put in all new fuel hoses on the power head. When I get the pieces back from chinewalker I reinstall them. Its working well for me. I concentrate on the boat resto and let the mechanic work on the parts I'd be kicking myself for right now if they didn't run right. Thanks chinewalker! If tf this weather clears like its supposed to its beer time!

Here I thought you were gone for 3 weeks with no internet access Brian!

Glad to hear the motors are working fine. We hope to get out today with our poor old single outboard powered boat...
