So I was heading way out into the country to pick up yet another 50hp Merc(blue stripe) for a great price and of course I was doing the "Neil" watching in back yards and in the weeds and something caught my eye....so I wheeled around and went back and there was a sleek looking boat back in a field with kinda shrink wrap on it. Could it be..no way...let me go over and check it out. As I approached I suddenly became pretty certain it was a Glastron G-150.

Sure enough it was. No motor and from what I could see looked decent hull wise. Then some guy come strutting out of his shack and walks over.
"Is this your boat I ask" .... "Naw it's my brothers" he says. "Any chance it might be for sale as I tried to curb my enthusiasm.

"No way....that's a James Bond boat" he quickly retorted. I said it surely is and his brother was a lucky guy. He said yep ...he needs to restore the "transit" he whistled through the gap which once held some front teeth.

We jawed for a bit and then I went on my way feeling much less of a "Neil" than Neil when it comes to finding 'em along the road...but hey I tried right?

Unfortunately, I think Gary is right. It'll be a crying shame too!

Hopefully you left him contact information? Some people do come to their senses and realize they will never have the time, ambition or funds to follow through with the dream. I can't tell you how many times I got a call back from people who I had contacted about cars they were going to restore, rod someday. Free business cards with phone number and first name only.
