TOPIC: Help id this boat with VERY unique hardware

Help id this boat with VERY unique hardware 13 years 3 months ago #34258

This is a 16' boat with flared back with fins (my profile pic). This is a pic of the bow light. Looks very 'star trek' looking. The cleats are equally as cool. Curved etc. I figure if anyone knows this hardware they will know the boat.

I don't have time to look for it right now but I believe it was Neil who posted a message and pics of the same bow light he had picked up for something like $20 recently.

."CF" Most of the time Hardware was a Dealer installed choice / option. Names like Jervis ,/ Kainer & one other double name were sort of upgrade over Perko. . Some builders like Glasspar did have a signature cleat early 60's. . That bow light is one found on E-bay ocasionally. .. The curve cleat is sort of unique , (?) , so will be interesting to learn, but the boat is also nice.
SEARCH prior forums , here is talk of " ATTWOOD " space light ..!

Another ATTWOOD space light , three pod RIVIERA , E-bay dealer.

If you post a pic of the bow, side and transom there is a very good chance someone can identify your boat.

..Boat ID .? .The Library here only has the 1961 brochure , & your fins & bow light look 58 - 59 period., but since you live in this region my 1st choice would say " Pacific Marnier" www.fiberglassics.com/library/Pacific_Mariner .Your profile has words of Speed QUEEN,,? NOt sure if you own multiple boats.

Discussion about the same hardware just the other day: www.fiberglassics.com/glassic-forums/2-main-forum/33607-bow-lightrope-cleats.html

Apparently it is Attwood made. Attwood was common hardware used on boats, but this style not used as often.

Yep, Attwood.
Grab it. Grab the whole boat.
Do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars.

I love it! They really like you on here Neil! So this boat sat in a field overgrown with shrub barely noticeable from the highway. But My "findar" went off every time I passed it so I finally stopped. That hardware on it is absolutely PERFECT. Looks like the guy walked out in the field everyday and polished it. We are inland far from salt water and that helps. I'm stumped as to the make of this boat though. For a while I thought maybe a Commando cuz I saw another onefor sale with the same hardware. But it was different.(the boat)

That would look absolutely stunning in the same colors with a Mark 58a. Just enough chrome out the back to set it off.
Leave the hardware on it and enjoy it forever.
There would be many a envious boater wanting it, me included.
I hope you save it. Too cool!!

Your S is going to be electric start no alternator.
The 58a will be all Cloud White with a chrome wrap and faceplate. It also has the more square hat. Beautiful little Merc.
Your S would be a great motor on it also.
I am looking forward to a post soon with a pic of it in your driveway captioned "Its mine, its all mine."

..C.F.: CONGRATS, Was there a tag in the rear, or the owner knew
the name. You need to talk to Mr Bill Anderson. .. Ask the owner if the hardtop is in the garage..! Believe only a few of these handbuilt were ever found ,as they were made out of automobile parts.

I talked to the man that built them,he is in the north washington close to canada, Mine is a 58, he made very few 58,they had a glass windsheild, the deck is raised with the name waconda, and a\lso an anchor built in the glass,58 had a hardtop and a double splash rail,59 did not He said he made the 59 to sell and he had to cheapen them and he did well with them, sold quite a few, but the 58 he had to ask 15-1600 back then,They are a nice deep boat,Mine is the only one this original color,Good luck Bill
