I bought this a year ago for $600.

Shortly after my wife lost her job, and I took a huge pay cut. I sold it to a friend, for what I paid, to help keep up with bills.

A few months later, a friend who owns a dive shop, gave us a couple rental Hobie kayaks, that were replaced under warranty, due to a small leak.We patched the leaks, and have gotten much use out of them. But, when he offered to trade the boat for the free kayaks, I jumped on it.

My goal is to get it on the lake for the 4th. I have questions to get it going, but it's late, and I'll post tommorrow.

Everything happens for a reason. I am thinking you are SUPPOSED to have this boat.
Good for you. Have a great Fourth with your "new" boat.

Jay,
Great looking boat. I'm very glad for you. She'll look great on the water.

I need some help with a few things. When I got it, it had newer swivel seats up front, and what was left of the original rear bench. I would imagine it origanally had a bench up front, but can't find any original pics, and there are no signs of any brackets that would support the back of the seat. Can someone post some pics and maybe dimensions of a similar boat with original seats. I'd also like to move the rear bench back from the middle of the floor to give more space, and help hide the gas tank and electrics. Will this cause issues with weight distribution?

Another issue is, my friend bought a new water pump kit, but stalled progress after completely disassembling the lower unit. Any links to how to get a '60 Gale 60hp lower unit back together? I've done 35 and 40hp OMCs, but this looks a good bit different. The impeller looks huge compared to the housing it fits in. I have a manual, but just moved and haven't tracked it down. Thanks for any help. Jay

No bolt holes through the gunnels, so it must have been supported by the base.
