TOPIC: oh well.............hate it when this happens

followed me home. probably gonna dump the merc 1250. seems to have good compression need to check out the rest of it but it is a fresh water motor. I have a nice 1350 for this when it is done. The darn thing just asked if it could come along with me(ya right)....what could I say!? No!?

Nice G-tron, Jim! Lets see, I could put the 1250 on the Starflite, and move the Johnny 115 over to the GT 150........

ONCE I PUT A LOWER UNIT ON IT FROM A 1100 I HAVE, CHECK THE COMPRESSION READINGS FOR ACCURACY AND CHECK IT FOR SPARK AND RUN IT (IF IT HAS SPARK) I WILL SELL IT IS ALL

gee, ya didn't have to yell at me...

I can't afford much so don't worry about me Jim, just trying to keep going. My old '63 Merc still keeps running good anyways. Started right out of the gate this year. She's a hoot!

Remind me again, once it stops raining (ha!) long enough to pull the cover on that boat I got for ya, what is it ya want pics of specifically? Just use my best judgement (ha!)?

Gosh Frank I'm not yelling. NO I'M NOT YELLING! No *** seriously I am not yelling just had caps lock on for another purpose earlier.
I paid $150 for the motor to come with the boat because I didn't want to bother with removing it etc......I had to go out to the NH/VT border to get the thing and I didn't want to bother with removing it etc.....so I figure with a good lower unit it will be worth $350 all day no T&T but I will toss in the controls that it came with. I just have a super clean 1350 I can build out with a nose cone and tilt and trim. I got a V-6 150 too but gnaw I think the 1350 will do her right.
When I had my old GT 160 at 4000 rpm I was doing 45 MPH never got a chance to punch it because my oldest boy thought his little brother (who had a crazed look in his eye about the speed) was going to fly out of the boat. I just didn't want to scare the kids is all at 5 and 2 1/2. I have another sweet and clean 115 from the mid eighties but people like to buy those so that is what I will do with that and build something out from the Merc Farm for this GT.
Now that I have a RED and WHITE again and the boys are older TOO BAD DADDY IS GONNA PUNCH IT ON THE NEXT RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as pics of the Sea King I will take what ever you can send along. I am at your mercy on that. You take your sweet time I appreciate the fact you went and got her for me. When I come out I will bring that windshield and we can see if she will fit your Power cat for you.

Maybe this weekend the rain will hold off and I'll uncover that little beauty of yours and take some pics. Got a lot going on, and sure would like to get the Power Cat out sometime, but need to build in a few hours to haul it to a lake somewhere. Not many close by to boat in. Hudson is high, muddy, lots of debris, no fun.

I can't get a compression reading yet because the starter has been sitting so long that the brushes are dirty and she will barely crank and her electronics appear to be in order. The wiring is not as crusty as you might think.

Pull starting the motor as I said the compression feels good so I sprayed some sea foam into her to get her cylinders oiled from sitting so long. No soft spots while pulling her over by hand.
She has great blue spark and when I sprayed a bit of starting fluid into the carbs and pulled her over by hand off she fired. A favorable find for sure. After that I sprayed straight fogging oil into her cylinders so she will sit like that for a few days until I find another starter or clean this one up. She also needs a spark plug wire on # 6 I am sure I can dig one out of a pile of em.
The weird....missing the exhaust tube that comes down from the exhaust adapter plate. They are too wide to fall out all the way so someone had to have taken the head off??? Also it was missing a water tube. When I put the lower unit from the 1100 on I inserted the water tube.

Quick Question. I see that 1250 doesnt have the spring from the throttle linkage to teh dist like my 68 has? Whats the purpose of that spring any how? and ... yeah... basically Whats it for and is it crucial? .. Cant wait to use mine!
