I had a nice thread to document the restoration of my 58 Redfish (Restofish)and it seamed popular although it is now locked up in archives :S
I would continue the thread if I could but do not know how to import the thread to the new site and I do not have time to rebuild it, suggestions? :unsure:

Hi finaddict I am located in SLC just getting my head wrapped around my 1958 Redfish purchased earlier this month I only know it's a 58 by reading the post you had.

Best thing to do would be to copy and paste the most important parts, or just an over view, and continue the post here.

Maybe post a link to the original article for reference.

I'd just start a new thread named RestoFish and say something like "To see the previous progress of this build follow this link" or something like that and include the link. It's a very interesting read.

I feel bummed about kind of loosing my thread too. I think that classicsfins had a good idea there! We could just add the link to new posts, so all can view the previous progress. That info can be helpful for every one. Finding different ways of doing things, ect. Seeing other peoples progress serves as inspiration for me to keep plugging away on my boat. So keep adding stuff!!! I’m going to get back at it soon & will be adding some posts my self.

Steve, look at classicfins post above, (#3405). He posted a link to Restofish. You can do this by going to the archives, calling up the topic you wish to link, and copy the address on your browser ( www.whatever.com/yadda/yadda/dot/click ), and paste it in the text of your post.

A shortcut to copy is to highlight and control C, and to paste do control V. It should come up in your new post underlined and the cursor will turn into a hand to let you know the link is active. If you have any more questions just let us know.

Nice work on the boat, BTW!

Well I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. When I try to add the link when editing my post it wont work. It just comes up as text in my post, when I try to add it. If I paste it to Microsoft word processor it comes up as a link, but copying it from there seems to turn it back to text. In this new post it works. But not when editing? I’m lost here! It seems strange you cant add the link when editing your post.

Just a silly question, are you clicking on the "link post" button and then highlighting the link and copying it into the pop up box?

If it still doesn't work for you, this may be an issue for the support forum.

I tried every thing I could think of! It just would not work when editing a post for some reason… I really don’t know what’s up with that. But more importantly. I just realized I have totally Hijacked this post! Sorry!!!

How about that redfish? I’m going to need to hit this guy up for some info about the fairing he has been doing on his boat. Its looking really good! I would like some updates on that bad boy!
