TOPIC: Help with ID or Help making up a name.

I picked this 14' glassic up last fall. I have fixed the steering, got the motor running and upholstered the interior and gave it a quick polish. Unfortunately the butt load of snow we got this winter broke the windshield so I need to make a new one. Now I need to try to register it. It has ND numbers on it but they are from 1986. I called North Dakota Game and Fish and they do not have records that date back that far. It has a 1957 35hp Evinrude on it so I am guessing the boat is about the same vintage. It has dual cockpit but is shallow so there is no floor. I found one number on the back of the boat stamped in the aluminum trim "14SD 001".

I am from Minnesota but plans are to register it in ND since the ND registration numbers are present and far fewer hoops to jump through than MN. Problem is I need to list the manufacturer of the boat on the paperwork and I have been searching since I got the boat but have not come up with anything.

When buffing the red bush painted portion of the bow I can just make out the letter d. So I think the name of the manufacturer ended in the letter d and it had a line under it like a letterman's jacket would have under the team name it that makes any sense.

Read this somewhere when I was a kid but I have always wanted to name a boat "Bow Movements". Couldnt resist. Seems more like a sailboat name.

but that boat looks to be in fantastic shape,i would name it "priss teen",or look and see what songs were the most popular in 1957,john

You can buy a piece of plexi at Lowe's and easily make a new windshield. Use the old for a pattern. It'll bend just fine. Beautiful little boat.

I need to put a manufacturer on the paperwork that I am sending into the state and using my decoding skills on the number stamped on the back 14SD 001, I figure the 14 is the length the SD is the manufacturer and the 001 may be the first or possibly only one built? So if no one here can ID it I think I need a name that used the SD like Sea Doll or Sea Maid.

Hm isn't that one of those old "Super Duper's"? From South Dakota?
