TOPIC: 1952 14ft viking runabout

i was wondering if anyone had any history on this boat as i just bought it about a month or so ago also i can't seem to find any in the fiberglasics library and also if anyone has the crank handle and gear to the hidden winch i have the drum still on a tee nee t frame trailer and also where to find or cross reffrence a part number for a 1957 omc buccaneer 12d15b 12hp outboard

here is the power i plan to run on it this is a 1957 omc gale buccaner 12d15b 12hp outboard that has less then 30 hours on it just need help finding a new water pump

Hi and welcome to the group. I can't tell you anything about the boat but the impeller you need for the Gale is the same one that fits 15hp Evinrudes from the same years. The part should be available at any local marine shop or NAPA. I do think however that the 12hp will be a bit lacking in performance on that boat and something 25 to 40hp would be more appropriate. I also suspect that the boat is from the late 50's to mid 60's . Cool trailer! Gotta love the Tee Nee's

There was a Viking Boat Co. at Goshen, Indiana that moved there in 1979. They moved into the closed Stuery Boat plant. Viking started about 1953 and they were originally located at Middlebury, IN. They were part of Coachman Industries, the folks that made camping trailers, for the last few years of operation. Chris-Craft bought the facility at Goshen in May 1982 and ran it until 1993.

I do not think that this Viking Boat Co. made fiberglass boats in the 1950s and 1960s. They made aluminum boats. They did have some fiberglass boats in their line in the 1970s.

Your Viking may have been made by some other firm.
