Condolences to Scott Smith, aka chinewalker, on the passing of his dad on Saturday. Scott's dad, Riggs Smith, was a pillar of the St. Lawrence River community. Riggs raced boats and was a founding member of the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY. I saw Scott a little over a week ago in the shop working on an old Evinrude. We carry on what we know. Know that many are thinking of you and your family Scott. God Bless.

C.B. : THANKS for the post... Also from New York I knew Riggs well, thru the AOMCI & N.Y. Meets. He was a energenic motivator & always kept saying the hobby & Clayton museum would grow big. . Just keep getting new people to "CAtch the Fever".

I'm sure I bought a Johnson Po-15 from him, & we crossed paths thru employment, & vintage racer Roger Hinsdale, now a retired neighbor. I know he donated back some of his racing & show trophies so new chapters could get up & running.

." SAD news on the doorstep " . Been to North Wind many times on
the river in Fishers Landing. Also have a tall son like Scott & he
is the now generation to keep the hobby going.

I have seen his COMET racer in the museum. Believe 12-N & 112-N

So sorry to hear of your loss Scott. I've been there and done that as they say(in '96), and it is not easy no matter what.

Take care,
Tim

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Thank you to everyone here at FiberGlassics for their kind words and support. We are doing well.

My Dad was involved in the Antique and Classic Boating scene since its inception in the late 1960s. Although he liked to kid me about my fiberglass boats, truth is, he really enjoyed them. His last ever boat ride was two summers ago in my 18-foot Starcraft. We loaded him in the boat, wheelchair and all, locked the wheels and away we went. His front wheels popped up a bit when I hit the throttle - and the grin on his face got wider. I'm sure the folks at his nursing home would have flipped if we'd told them what we were going to do when we signed him out, but sometimes you have to bend the rules a bit.

I love the story of you taking your Dad on a boat ride in his wheel chair. Had to be a Kodack moment!

Scott;
I haven't been on line for some time.
I never new yor DAD but, I know how you feel. In September I will be eighty. I have the good fortune of having a son, like you, that enjoyes the same things that I do. Giving your DAD that " Wheelie" in the boat, he is still smilling.
Thank you. Old Darb
