TOPIC: Thompson Boat Rally 24-26 June 2011

The seventh THOMPSON ANTIQUE & CLASSIC BOAT RALLY is taking place 24-26 June 2011 at Marinette, WI. It is open to any and all vintage boats, no matter the make, material, propulsion, style. It is NOT a wooden boat show. It is not exclusive to Thompson and her various spin-offs.

The Rally is not judged and there are no awards. It's a time to get together, network, share stories, have fun, go for boat rides, eat and drink.

I depart for Marinette in a few minutes. Bringing TWO vintage fiberglass boats for display at the Rally: 1966 Chris-Craft by Thompson Boat Co. of New York, Inc. 17'-6" Corsair Sport V with 1966 Evinrude 100 HP & 1965 Thompson Bros. 15' G1500 (built by Crownline at Cairo, ILL) with 1967 Mercury 50 HP.

Weather sounds as if it will clear up and be warm (finally).

Should be a great event. Drop by for a look and ask for a boat ride. The Rally site is right next door to Marinette Marine Corp. which is currently building US Navy warships.
