I found this boat on the other side of Nashville Thursday, Its a 1963 Sea Ray 500 with a '58 Evinrude fat 50. It sat for 2 years, I put gas to it and a fresh battery and it fired up like it was shut off yesterday! The boat is super nice, it has a new interior, it has just sat for 2 years. I bought this rig for the motor, but the boat is too nice! A little "snake oil" Vertglas and its looking pretty good to me. The floor is a little soft in the rear but it will work for now. The transom is solid! Im gonna store the old motor for now and rig my 2 cylinder 50hp Johnson on it.

Looks like a nice find!! I like the styling on that motor.

I hope to make it to Knoxville, too- If I can get out of Chicago!

Cool boat! Love to see the older Sea Rays. Have one myself. Not bad for 48 years old!!

Very nice she looks great. Don't ditch the Fat Fifty that's a nice motor even if it like a lot of gas. Of course I'm partial i have a '59 Fat Fifty Golden Jubilee.

Oh no,.I'm saving the fat fifty for another old boat. That's the whole reason I bought the sea ray. The boat was just a bonus.

Nice find bdubya, and welcome. Looks like you found another nice old Sea Ray. Should be a sweet ride, looks like somebody mounted a ski pole, huh. Hope to see you start a thread of your own and keep us posted on your progress! ;)
