TOPIC: Dorsett Emblem help

Would one of you Dorsett owners be so kind and condescending, stoop so low and be so bending, as to provide me with an up-close, straight-on and in-focus picture of the Dorsett disc emblem. I have the logo from the library, but I was hoping for an image w/ more quality.....And not to push my luck, but a measurement or two would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, Did Raymond Loewy design these boats? The windows resemble a '50 Studebaker Starlight coupe that I once had.

I am trying create a DWG file so I would need a WMF or DXF to import into ACAD. Do you know the size of the original?

The illustrator file is 1.5mb

I can also save it in a few other formats, the 'normal' .JPG, .GIF, and several vector formats, (EPS, SVG), as well as PDF. I'm not familiar with ACAD, so I don't know what you can import directly...

Povertyjet, here's what I've got. Unfortunately, both my eblems had the tips broken off but maybe this pic will help. The inner circle is 4" across and the entire width with tips is 7". Hope it helps.

What are some of the programs that will give you the vector art? I had this come up for something else and I never got a good answer.

Illustrator is the primary one, and most common in the graphics world.

There are a LOT of others, though, including some free ones-

What is it you are trying to do ? Are you trying to cast some emblems or just re-produce the logo for decals or hats Etc ? These were cast in Silicon Bronze then chrome plated They are sand cast so there is alot of finish work before you can plate

Emblems are 7" from point of the < to the end and the circle is 4"

Yes, Raymond Lowey was involved with styling and design of the Dorsett boat line. Says so right in the front of some of their brochures.

bhamrick, is there a way of getting some cast emblems? Do you know who might produce these?
