I need a new prop on my boat and I have verified that I have a 1964 Mercury 500, The prop on the boat now appears to be OEM and lists as a 10 3/4 X 10.

I need a new prop but none of the listings on all the major dealers go back to the 60's.

I do know the shaft has 11 splines, and advice?

I have tried calling www.dansdiscountprops.com/ 3 times and no answer. Any suggestions?

I'm looking to buy a Michigan Vortex or other inexpensive aluminum brand.

Need help! I need to get in the water ASAP!

I think you may want to edit your post so that it says 64. Whats wrong with the prop that you need a new one? They can be re hubbed if need be. Seems to me like this was the original set up far as prop dimensions goes.

There should be a number scribed into the hub. That is where the info comes from. You can try Pier Propeller in Tonawanda NY or Rocky Bottom Propeller in Buffalo. If you need there number let me know. They both repair and sell. Iboats.com has a prop forum that may help... maxrules.com has a chart listing for older mercs. Go to technical spec, then old mercs, which leads to prop selection... Also Tim Calms- Paradise Boat works probably has some laying around, info on Nicklecityclassic.com

I do have the part number, it is listed in that PDF as well

C-48-33774A1

Motor serial is 1718647

I have called around and no one has replacements for this era of motor

I think I will be forced to call:
www.mercurymarine.com/service-and-support/customer-support/classic-mercury-hotline/

and see if they can help

iBoats doesn't go back that far either, a search by part number yields nothing as well, I found the OEM number on Mercury's website and found the best price I could @ boats.net

Keep an eye on eBay. You want a 1962 to 1970 Mercury Quicksilver prop for the 11-spline shaft with through-hub exhaust. The same props also fit the 35hp and first gen 40s. I think it was either 1971 or 1972 that they switched to a 13-spline shaft.
