Ok.. SOOOOOO finally got back to the transom and it is removed! YES! took me long enough, I know... but ehh, it's out now. For the previous pictures and thread, please see below.

Ok, so I'm not gonna type much, just enjoy and save the pictures for your own future Lake N Sea project... to the best of my knowlege, this is the only place you will find published pictures.. haha!

Where I was before today...

All Gone!

Just another shot.. notice the small horizontal piece of wood, mounted to the louvers, to take up the space between plywood transom and louver, where the tow eye-loop is mounted.

pieces of transom.. good enough for a patterm.. Notice the small 'ear' on the outside edge of the transom

tool of the trade! Harbor Frieght special!

All for now...

It is interesting that there is no support behind the louvers- Although it's a decorative detail, it seems like a weak spot.

It is my hope that I'm not going to have to replace my transom, I know that there is a touch of rot in a few areas around the drains, But I can do a 'spot' repair there. It looks like I might have to do some drilling to check a few spots out for rot.

Hopefully my stringers will be OK too- Again, the only way I'm going to know is if I drill a few spots, and I'll probably have to do that from above, since as you know there is no access otherwise. I'd hate to take that floor out if I don't have to, since it's all fiberglass. I just wish they'd have made the stringers that way, too!!
