TOPIC: Looking for windshield "clip"

Looking for windshield "clip" 13 years 5 months ago #30693

I'm hoping this photo comes through ok.

My 1958 Sea Mac has some crome fasteners that screw down on the deck of the boat and screw in to the windshield. The windshield say's Taylor Made on it.

The problem is that the screws are a perminent part of the fastener and they have corroded and broken.

It's 2.25 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts?

Thanks in advance,

jerri

Contact Taylormade, but be sure you are sitting when you ask the price.

I think you used to beable to buy those from Taylor or U2Marine. Taylor list a number but you can't order that part. They do have the ones that go thru the windshield gasket but not the ones in the picture.
So if you find a source for those windshield fastners. Please post it here on the board. I have been searching for those for some time now.

Thanks Del

I tried to order those about a month ago from Crowley- And they were out of stock. They said that they could back order them, but since taylor doesn't make them any more, I don't think that would help...

Those little buggers are 1st on my list to reproduce when I get to doing some metal casting- They are VERY simple, and it bothers me that they are getting close to $50.00 for a 4 pack!!

Two sets sold on eBay 2 days ago. You might try to contact the buyer or seller to see if they want to part with one set. Item #270736759229. Good luck

I found this info on Glassics Online: Windshield Resource Info

Not sure if this info is still good, but worth a shot...

SUCCESS! I followed bryanray's link to crowley and ordered a set of 4 for $25.17 (plus $10 shipping). I did it online so hopefully they are not backordered.

Thanks again for the quick fix to my search.

I'm going to be REALLY mad if you actually get them... I got this response when I tried to order them with some channel molding-

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately neither item is in stock. We would have to put them on backorder from the manufacturer.

That was in march...
