1957 Beautiful Curt Craft Cabin Cruiser 13 years 5 months ago #30296

Does anyone know any further info on Curt Craft boats? I have recently acquired a beautiful 1957 Curt Craft Cabin Cruiser? I have found very little info on it and it seems to be very rare? Any help would be great

Not much besides the model information in the Library section:

www.fiberglassics.com/library/Curt_Craft

Maybe someone can look in the Antique & Classic Boat Society's registry.

Curt Craft made by Herberts Boats, Inc. Hummm, could this be Curtis Herberts who was the president of Wizard Boats, Inc.????? Did he leave Wizard and form Herberts Boats, Inc.???

All my boat files are packed away for my move next week therefore I cannot do any digging. I just pulled this out of my memory.

H.A. I do NOT see any owners listed for Curt Craft in the newly issued 2011 directory .. That was a good idea / suggestion.

Here is the LINK for ABM.. Uppper right header "SUBMIT A REQUEST"..

This is the most info I have found on the boat and its an obituary articles.dailypilot.com/2008-09-03/news/doc48bf19e76028a079261762_1_boats-great-success-fish
I plan on taking pictures of it Thurs. and will upload them. I am wondering if I should get it surveyed or not? I inherited the boat and not quite sure of the value, obvously it has great inherited value to me though:) Thank you so much for the help.

Hello there...

My father was Curt Herberts (per the obituary you have referenced). Dad developed and built Wizard boats as well as Curt Craft.

I am not sure what pictures or info I may regarding Curt Craft. I do remember going with my father to Long Beach to help at the boat store: Herberts Boats.

I know I have some pictures of Dad throwing a Wizard boat off the roof of the manufacturing building in Costa Mesa. It was to prove how strong they were.

I will look through some boxes of photos I have and see what I have.

Your boat is beautiful...Dad would have loved to see your boat.

Welcome Carol, nice to have you drop by and join us here. We'd love to see anything you have on your father's work, he created some beautiful boats from what I've seen so far. Many of us here are very interested in any and all info pertaining to the history, early pics of anything related to the classic's creation and construction. Thanks in advance for sharing whatever you may have.

Welcome aboard Carol. I too would love to see pictures of the Wizard boat being dropped from the roof! Since Wizard was one of the earliest RFP boat builders, this history would be wonderful to add to the Classic Library here.

Hello...I am now home from vacation and have begun my search through the boxes of pictures from my parents' estate. I just found these three business cards. Not sure if this is the best way to post them to your site? Carol

Well obviously that didn't work. Could someone please let me know how to post pics on your website.

Ok, well I give up on trying to attach the pic of the business cards. The size of the image is 672 x 1278 and 91 KB. It is a jpeg image and I am using a MAC. I have tried a number of times. The image file attaches in the "choose file" box, however it does not load.

Perhaps the best solution would be if I email the images to whoever is the moderator or someone who keeps the main reference info for this site. They can then post the images to the gallery or history area.

I am going to go and get another box from storage that I believe has the pic of dad throwing the Wizard of the roof of the manufacturing building...and any other pics I may find regarding the boat business.
