TOPIC: Starcraft Daytona TR17

Starcraft Daytona TR17 14 years 1 week ago #29752

I'll say it early first post here and I am a complete newb in the boating world. I recently purchased a Starcraft daytona tr 17.2ft tri-hull. Everything is good on it except the bilge pump needs replacement. When i look at the place the old bilge is there are 4 ported holes in the low pan where the bilge sits. One leads directly out the back and is plugged. The other 3 are on each side of the sunken square where the bilge is. What are the other 3 there for? It is hard to find information online for this boat i have learned. is it related to a siphon drain i keep reading about online. Once again sorry I'm new. I need all the info and advice i can get for this specific boat. Please and Thank you.

I would guess that the three drain holes might lead to three distinct chambers. You may have three stringers that go from the hull to the cockpit floor with no drain holes between them. The stringers may have some sort of box design at the transom which isolates the three holes.Or it is just a design that makes sure there is no standing water on one side or the other of the bilge drain box.Short of ripping up the floor the best thing to do is make sure they are free of debris.

Thank you. I'll make sure they are clean and and plug them nice and snug.

Whoa! Don't plug those 3. Those allow water to exit into the bilge.
By the way I own the same boat. Mine is a 68'
I redid the floor and transom. I can tell you there is a serious network of frames and stringers under there.
