I put new numbers on the other day and was messing around. Don't know if I'll paint on the stripe below the rub rail or not ,but wanted to get the numbers down low enough just in case. I thought about painting it the sea mist gray like above the rub rail with a 1/4" tomato red pinstripe along the bottom of the stripe. Ideas, thoughts...

Jim
I like it. It breaks up the solid color.
Just a little gap between the top of the letters and the stripe and I believe you are onto something.
I like the 60's Ford truck grills. Nice touch to the shop and up out of the way.

Thanks Neil, I'm kicking the idea around. She's got a big hull, lol. It might be just the right "obstickle" illusion to bring her down to size..

You can always use photoshop to give you a rough idea of what it's look like- I like it!

I realize the red stripe is wider than you want it, but I cheated and just used your tape line :)

Looks like that idea will really break up the solid slab side hull. It will really look good just sitting in the water. I like how you didn't carry it all the way to the transom. Maybe just refine the end just alittle to give an illision of speed. Skip.

Thanks Andgott, That looks great!! I'm not familiar with photoshop,I'm afraid I know just enough about computers to get into trouble. Skip, I agree. The back part looks too thick.I'll fine tune the design before I spray..Thanks John and thanks to Del Rio 62.Seeing his boat give me the idea. I just got my temp registration yesterday so I'm getting closer to a shakedown cruise.Going to see how she performs before I get too wild on her. I got to get some more tires. PO had 6.00-12s on the trailer and they rub the fenders. Man, tires have gone crazy.

I like Andrew's rendition too, Jim, looks great. Just a couple years ago you could buy 12" wheel & tire combos for about $45. Now they're almost twice that!

by the way jim,i see your using paper masking tape,i have found that the blue vinyl masking tape ,available at napa,or yuor auto paint store is easier to use for curves and gives a great edge to your paint, just a thought, john
