Trying to get a 75hp rude shipped from Mil Hall Pa to Kentwood ,La,I got my merc78A shipped from N.J. for 172.00 thru U-Ship and cant get a bid under 250.00 on this one. Any Suggestions? Thx.

I would think its the Fuel costs that are hurting you seeing the same thing with Feed products. Just shipped rail on some from AL to NY and PA because truck is getting too expensive... Keep a bid out there some one may want just a subsidy and take the load for you to offset some of their costs vs pay the whole way. Good Luck

try Forward Air or R&L Carriers for class 85 freight. It may end up the same as U-Ship but at least you can see what freight costs.

Yeah- Rates are SKYROCKETING with fuel costs...

I've also found that to/from certain destinations is a LOT cheaper, especially if you happen upon someone who is driving through that area of the country anyway. How long did you have it on Uship?? Sometimes I didn't get good quotes for a week or more.

I found a shipper to move 2 trailers AND a Volksboat for me- From two different locations, that he happened to visit frequently... Since I was in no hurry, he was able to do it at his convenience, and passed that savings on to me. It helps that I live off I-75, and a LOT of shippers are passing me on their way to/from elsewhere.
