I have a chance to get this Gale 25 that is working apparently like a top. No serial number or other info yet but was wondering if $100 is a good deal.

Of course I will be checking it out tomorrow running and compression etc. It is manual start with controls and appears by pic on the old Glastron to be long shaft.

I just don't know much about these other than a division of OMC that was dropped in 63.

Its a short shaft , but it looks more like a 35hp.......hard to tell, I would buy it and use it on my alumacraft 14'er

Yea now looking I see it is a short shaft(thanks for pointing that out) and if a 35 even better. Would it not say on the motor somewhere to lead the guy to believe it was a 25?

Maybe good for my 57 Custom Craft and I can use the 58 Johnson 35 elsewhere. He said it has controls so I assume no separate solenoid box etc right?

Check it out tomorrow.

Thanks,
Tim

Model and serial numbers will verify year and hp. Basically a detuned (supposedly) Johnson/Evinrude Big Twin. Easy to work on, parts available. A runner is worth the money.
