I'm in the process of digitizing some old outboard service manuals that I have in my collection- They are fairly comprehensive, covering MOST of what you'll ever need...

The service info is from 1963, and covers most outboard models built prior to that date. I've got service manuals for the following, Which I'll be making available on my site-

Apache
Atlas Royal
Brooklure
Buccaneer
Chief
Clinton
Commando
Commodore
Corsair
Elgin
Evinrude
Firestone
Gale
Hiawatha
Homelite
Husky
Johnson
Mercury
Mono
Neptune
Oliver
Scott
Sea Bee
Sea King
Sovereign
Techumseh
West Bend
Wizard

I've got most of the Evinrude done now-

www.agott.com/glassboat/Manuals/Erude1m.pdf

Covers 1955-1963 Lightwin, Ducktwin, Fisherman, Fleetwin, Sportwin, & Fastwin 3-18 HP

www.agott.com/glassboat/Manuals/Erude2m.pdf

Covers 1955-1963 Speeditwin, Big Twin, & Lark 28-40 HP

www.agott.com/glassboat/Manuals/Erude3m.pdf

Covers 1958-1963 Four-Fifty, Starflite, & Speedifour 50-75hp

They are all PDF format. The quality is decent, although I have higher resolution ones available that are a bit more suited to printing. I compressed them in Acrobat to get them down from 30 or so MB each to about 2, which is much easier to download!

I'll be scanning the rest of the manuals over time- If anyone has any requests for makes/models that they need, let me know and I will push them up to the front of the line. Scanning and processing these is a bit of a tedious and time intensive process, so bear with me :)

Once I get a bit farther along I'll make up a page that allows them to be accessed directly, rather than through links like this....

That's awesome Andrew thanks for doing that. Does the Merc one cover a 1961 800FGS?

Bob-

The Merc manuals cover every merc model from 55-64, That's the next 'group' I plan to do after completing the Evinrude/Johnson sections....

I've got the factory service manual for that year merc, too- Damn thing cost as much as my motor!

Wish I'd have known you had these Andrew. Merc Manual $74.95 + $12.xx shipping, whew! I hear ya, LOL. Bob, if you need anything prior to the Andrew posting the scan let me know, I can hook you up too.

Andrew, do you have anything on the 1973 Johnson 115 V4? (Maybe too new, but thought I'd ask.)

Now that's the spirit of giving/sharing at it's finest. I assure you that we all understand how tedious that process must be and we surely appreciate you doing so and being kind enough to provide.

I have been hoping to come across something for my 55 Mark 55E ...looking forward to seeing if you have it included in the merc manuals you mentioned are coming next.

Thanks again Andrew.

Mark- I bought that manual, too! It was more than my Merc was :)

These manuals are not NEARLY as comprehensive as that one, but the ones I'm scanning are complete enough to get most of what the average DIY'er is going to do in their own shop....

I actually de-bound the book, and I am photocopying each page, then digitizing each one, converting to PDF, and resizing so it's easy to upload.... I'll post them on my site- along with the other 'goodies' I've been acquiring. I'm a real sucker for the ephemera- All the catalogs, ads, magazines, books, etc from the era. I've got some neat stuff to share!

Andrew,
Thanks for doing the Evinrude. That'll help on my Fat Fifty. They seem pretty straight froward but you never know when your going to run into a problem. Thanks so much for doing this. Roger that on the Merc. May be a while before I get to it.

Mark,
Thanks bud appreciate it. Like I said it may be a little while before I get back to it. Wife has me making cupboards for the laundry room. I'll be posting that in the NBR section soon.

I talked to Bruce and I plan on starting a "Hot Rodding your Fat Fifty" post shortly. Have to get the heads milled first.

Do you have anything that would cover a 1966 Johnson 33hp? Thanks!

I;m scanning the JOhnsons today... BUT, the service manuals are from 1964, so that model won't be specifically addressed.

There is a good chance, however, that it will be very similar to one of the older models... It seems that they really did stay the same for a LONG time.

For those looking for merc manuals, I'm on that this week as well. Looks like all models from 6hp up produced from 1955-1963 are covered.

Re:Some Outboard Service Manuals.... 13 years 3 months ago #35948

Hi Andrew.

I'm looking for PDF manuals for a 1963 Johnson 3 hp, JW-18B and a 1957 Johnson Sea Horse, 18 HP.

If you have these digitized, how can I get them.

I can't even imagine the size of this project. I'm glad to see a piece of history captured in a "forever" format.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi Kathie- Busy lately, haven't been on FiberGlassics much!!

I've got all the manuals up, on my new but as yet incomplete site-

www.agott.com/glassboat/

In the menu, under resources, you'll find outboard service manuals. Go there, then scroll down to Johnson... You should find what you're looking for there!
