TOPIC: I soon will have POWER

This will be my new baby for the Commando U-2,so far i know it have 70hp,still turn over and good compression and no rust anywhere.I am going to pick it up on Saturday and i will find a way to post a pic of my new u-2 project.[just got a laptop]

I think the guy said it was a 1958 Super Marathon Six Mark 78.He never start it for 14yrs.That is twice the hp of my Johnson

Is that the same type of Motor they used back then to Break the endurance record ?? Went something like 70,000 miles running 24 hours aday for like 70 something days ?? Cant find the Video for it .Somebody might have it .If somebody posts it check the guys out . Not a single PFD on the video ...L.O.L..But anyways Congrats on finding a Nice old Merc ..

That sure looks like a '58 Marathon 6... nice! My grandfather had the exact motor and color combo on the back of his home-built cabin cruiser in 1959 (bought a year leftover at the dealer) at that time, it was the largest motor running on the Middletown PA portion of the Susquehanna River... my father is on a quest to find one like it some day... congrats on finding yours! That should be a really fun runner!
