Awhile back there was a thread on were to get windshield fastners. I have found the ones that are mostly hidden in the gasket material but I am looking for ones like what are on the windshield in the picture.

Thanks Del

I have the same ones on the Invader I'm re-doing and will need some myself.

A long time ago I made a windshield and used the following for fasteners. The fasteners (that attached to the windshield and go through the boat deck) and the end caps were purchased from West Marine for $40. These are Taylor Made products (#1605 and #1607). The fasteners come four to a package … I used eight. The end caps are a pair, in a package. These prices were several years ago. I'll try to attach a picture of them. Larry in Idaho.

Haven't seen anything but the hidden type, but here's another type of vintage fastener, found on a 1959/60 Speed Queen:

Good luck finding them, though.... They are Taylor 1623's, discontinued for a while. Lots of people have them listed on their web page, but so far anywhere I have tried to order them from has been out of stock and not able to get them.

They DO come up on E-Bay from time to time, last set of 4 that I saw on there went for $50.

Del: I ordered a four pack from Go2Marine about two months ago. Hers is a copy of a previous post.

Good Luck

I called Go2Marine @ 1-800-998-9508 and asked them if they carried the 4pack of External Hold Down Fasteners. They said they did not. I asked them to call Taylor Made to see if they still manufactured them. They called Taylor Made they do indeed still make them. So I was able to ordered a set for myself through Go2Marine after all. Go2Marine part #154700, Taylor Made Part #1607.

They really like them at $41.65 for a set of 4.
