You know you have too many boats when... 14 years 9 months ago #2669

A registration renewal shows up in the mail and it takes you ten minutes to figure out which boat it's for.

Turns out it was this one:

That reminds me - has anybody heard from Ephrem lately?

Gee Bill, what kind of boat is that? Curious minds need to know!

First small one I have seen. We have a few larger ones over here on the chesapeake; the engine is further back and there is much more room inside - can't remember their name. Might have been hydrodisc or hydroslide or something like that. I have only seen them with red or blue gelcoat decks and white hulls. Seems like different companies but the idea (round, no steering) is the same. I do recall the circraft name though, but yours is the first I've seen.

It's a CirCraft made in England. Seven feet in diameter (that's what stumped me on the registration - I have several seven footers of various ilks) rated for forty hp! I can't imagine towing a skier with it, he'd pull you all over the place. Looks like they made it from the late sixties on, and I remember seeing a link on the internet recently to a place in China that was making copies, but you had to buy ten or more.

I got the one in the picture from a backyard on a backroad up north.

Maybe just a little different way to file registerations. Never too many boats. Tom
