TOPIC: I think I need to buy more boats....

To hang all the motors off of. This is one I have wanted for a LONG time now. Yes, I DO Have the rest of it, it's still in the car, though, it was too dark to attempt unloading it tonight... It appears to be in pretty good shape, mostly intact. She's going to need a GOOD cleaning, though!



The Golden Javelin has always been a favorite of mine- I've been looking for one, but when they come up they are often VERY expensive, and/or they sell really fast... This one was 'lurking' in the Chicagoland area, in a garage. Hasn't seen the water (or the light of day!) for a few years- Perhaps decades.

The ONLY part that is missing from the cowl is the recoil cover- and, if I can't find an old one, I just found out that reproductions are available.

Looks like I'm going to have to rent an SUV to get home this time

The covers are available, but I can't tell you who from. Looks like all the script is in tact too. Great find!! I always convert them to single gas line with a fuel pump. That old pressure tank is a pain in the butt, and dangerous. If you need any parts let me know.

Congrats on the Golden! I got my '58 Super Seahorse on the bench tonight... good motors it seems.

Not to hijack your thread, but I would be very interested in the fuel-pump conversion... sounds very interesting!

Your '58 is it the "Super Quiet" or the bronze and white?
The Super quiet already had it. You have to do some drilling and tapping and get a newer style pump, and a new tank. It's not hard to do. I can send some pictures, or talk you through it. That conversion is one of the first things I want to do. I'm not a fan of pressurized fuel tanks- Even though I run a gasoline tanker

Frank Robb on AOMCI "Ask A Member" makes and sells a dandy conversion kit for changing to fuel pump...looks factory

In 57 and 58 one could order a motor with a fuel pump in place a twin hose system ...an upgrade

The link to the 18 HP change is totally different for the 35. If you can get a kit that might be best, although the pump is off any 59 or newer OMC you need the right hose connector, That's the hard part to come by.
