hehe, yea well what I tell people is simple, I can make -a- graphic that when your looking at it on my screen I have to mouse around the graphic to work on it because it will not fit on my screen, but that how you work in detail...

and to get detail you need to start large, then if when the time comes the programs can re-size the large format to a manageable size for what ever and who ever is working them for they can manage them...

my rule of thumb is I can make a great in detail picture that is huge that is re-sized smaller and it will retain the detail, but I cannot print a small image that is re-sized larger than what it was and expect it to have any detail.

hehe all alphabet stuff is only really noticeable when working in "layers" on an image before compressing it into single "image"...now I going to confuses people

The vast majority of my artwork is Miniature... My graphite drawings are usually 2" x 3" or less- Yet they retain all the detail of a larger work. These are all more or less actual size-

They are small, but VERY detailed. I just use a really sharp pencil! In fact, at the majority of exhibitions, the gallery/venue provides the visitors with a MAGNIFYING GLASS to closely examine the works... Talk about nerve wracking... MOST artists don't have to worry about that kind of scrutiny!

I'm a member of the Miniature Art Society of Florida, The MPSGS, Association of Miniature Artists in the US, as well as The Royal Miniature Society as well as the Hilliard Society in the U.K... I display all over the world, too- I might just have a show near you!

okok, i should have clarified doing graphics on the computer...

where with pencil in hand you use a Magnifying Glass (which would drive me right over the edge...) on the computer I will start a graphic with a huge base image that I would then zone using graph "sections" I then "work" those sections, now I am able to zoom "away" from this to see what it looks like as a whole "at scale" which would be like...standing back without the magnifying glass.

Great work btw, in no way am I an "artist" like you, just bored with come and go interest, but toying with graphics seems to always kept my interest...

Yeah, I know... I was just messing with you...

What graphics program(s) do you use?? I do most logos/illustrations in Illustrator. That way, since they are all vector graphics, I can do them all in a size that fits on my screen nicely....

So, When a 'customer' asks for this-


And I spend all day drawing it- Then they say "Oh, I needed to make a Tee-Shirt out of that... I COULD resize a raster image (what the JPEGs are) to this-



Which they PROBABLY won't be happy about... But if I drew it as a vector image, I can push a few buttons and give them this-



And they will be a bit more happy!

In theory, I could blow that up to the size of a billboard if I wanted to. Vector graphics make life a lot easier.

What can I say? how about the bare facts. I will let you make up your mind about the animation itself and hope you leave a comment.

so here are the facts...

Two days to set up, and then several months to render, resulted in around forty 1.9GB uncompressed .AVI files. I added watermarking, fx and time remapping, before multi-pass encoding the 80GB video in h264 (32,768 kbit/sec) and the audio in AAC.

The final result is a very high quality

then I compressed again to a very watchable 1GB (10,000 kbit/sec) for vimeo.

then I remapped the video from this and remixed another audio track to create A 10 minute version for youtube.

for this deep tech house sound.

andrew ,thank you so much for the logo,i ordered a bunch of free stuff from vista print with the logo on it.
even free shipping ,i get free offers from them all the time.the only charg es were a one time logo upload fee of $3.74,and a tee -shirt for $4.74 for a total cost of $8.48,a pretty good deal,so dave have you looked into them yet?
i ordered a small 3 foot banner,250 bussiness cards,250 loyalty cards,100 post cards,and a t-shirt,and i probaly could have gotthe t-shirt for free also,but i didnt go for it,because i thought the price was good,lol.plus i got free shipping.
i have nothing in this printing bussiness but i thought i would tell you so other folks can get t-shirts and stuff with pics of their boats or boat bussiness cheap or free.

Yeah John, I checked them out and ordered some 75% off business cards...then got the free cards and other offers...ended up costing me about $15 for 250 Full color cards. Not a great deal, but OK. I'll use then again though.

I asked them about printing trading card sized cards for Mark's project and they are going to get back to me on that.
