TOPIC: Imperial Boats

Does anyone know anything about Imperial boats?? I want to know if they were produced by Chrysler?? I desperately want to find a Chrysler project boat 18ft or bigger and there is an Imperial for sale near me. My family owned a Chrysler dealership when I was little and so my blood runs Chrysler red. I just recently caught boat fever, always had hot rods. Now its boats.

Chrysler purchased Lone Star Boat Mfg. Co. in 1965. That is how Chrysler got into the boat business.

I have a 1977 Chrysler Boat brochure. NO "Imperial" model name was utilized. I do not know if they ever had an "Imperial" model. They may have had one by that name, I just am uninformaed on this topic.

About 1965-66 Chrysler purchased the outboard motor operation of West Bend company and that is how Chrysler got into the outboard business.

A friend of mine has an Imperial (I think Princess) But the Imperial was the name of the company. A lot of the boats were Royalty named, Duke, Baron, Prince, Ambassador amongst others.

. IMperial = ALL SEASONs INdustries out of Indiana with a Govt Code of " ALS " as the 1st three letters on the upper right transom H.I.N. recessed in the glass.

. IMP = Iola Molded Plastics Transon mfg code " XMP " out of Iola , Kansas.

Some other boaters commented a Imperial is along the quality / price of a Galaxy or Renken.

Chrysler made an Imperial CAR, but never an Imperial boat. Imperial boats is a totally different company with no connection to Chrysler.
