Have been away for awhile on vacation. This weeks project was to build a auto rotisserie so I could work on the bottom from the top. I can see me restoring in my old age and not wanting to be on the cement floor. This will come in very handy when grinding or repairing bottoms of boats. Thought it would be a worth while investment. I made it myself from steel I already had and a couple trips to the steel yard. I did save a lot by welding it my self. I still have a couple braces and a braking system to figure out but all in all it has worked out well. A little over kill but better safe than sorry. It will last forever!

Nice... I always wanted a system like that for my boats!

Nice setup. I built one a few years back for a Mach 1 Mustang I was restoring. Did you use any bearings at the pivot points or just steel on steel?

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

I have been been considering making something similar for my THawk, I often find myself looking to see if my neibour is home of phoning a friend to come over for a quick 2 minute job.

Could a person remove the bow loop and mount the front of a rotisserie to it without worrying if will rip out or create more work when spinning?

For now it's steel on steel with grease fittings. I may change that this summer but for now I am focused on the Amphicar. I saw one of them used by a boat repair shop and they had a special bracket they installed where the bow hook belongs. If that area is damaged I would reinforce it and use that spot. It is a very strong part of your boat and a good balance point.
