TOPIC: Painting 58 Johnson outboard

I intend to paint a 58 Johnson 35 HP outboard. Should I paint the entire motor bronze and then paint the white over the bronze or should I mask off the areas to be painted white before painting the bronze? I plan to use single stage urethene.

Shhot the white first since the majority of the motor is white. Then just mask off and spray the bronze. You'll use way less bronze and the bronze will have real nice coverage over the white.

Like Doug says, paint the cream first, then the bronze, then the black.

Oops! I just did the bronze first. Oh well, hope it comes out. I bought everything from Peter at NY also. The paint is incredible! The graphics cant be beat either.
