TOPIC: I'm looking for "64-69 Glastron Jetflite seat

I am looking for an original "pointy" seat from a '66 thru '69 Glastron Jetflite V-143 to be used for my backyard Batboat project.

This is the type with the turned up, pointed design shown below. This design was only used in Glastron Jetflite Super Sports from 1966 through 1969 and may have been upholstered in a metal flake vinyl.

No matter what the condition; water logged, rotten or with blown out seams. I just need one top half and one bottom just in good enough shape to interpolate a pattern for the vinyl, inner foam, piping, wood structure, and pleats.

I see a few of you had been working on Jetflites. If you have a whole or partial seat contact me before tossing it out.

I know where you can get a pair for 2 thousand or BO. Of course they come with boat motor and trailer. A 69 is on CL in Detroit, appears to be near mint as he has all original paperwork and second owner.Maybe he can give you dimensions and or up close pictures.

Darren, you may have to take the pics you have to an upholstery shop and have a set made. I recently saw a post on one of the G-tron forums about that vinyl/fabric being available, here's one result of a quick "google search" for it;

John- That's nice stuff... $55 a yard! Ouch.

I bought a whole roll of the red (identified as BURGUNDY) on closeout- I've got a few projects to do with it (I think I might do the Volksboat seats with it), but if anyone is looking for that material I can make you a great deal...

They had a roll of the charcoal, too- I was tempted, but couldn't think of anything to do with it- Would have been PERFECT for the BatBoat!!

I am planning to make these seats and rest of the upholstery myself.

That one metal flake vinyl looks like Naugahyde Zodiac. 54 inch width is a giveaway and "ZD 21" item number is the other. The other for $15 a yard may be that one that isn't backed with fabric.

There are only two metal flake vinyls in blue that I know of. Zodiac and the other.

I've got a sample of the Zodiacs and its some great stuff!

Thanks for the suggestions but I don;t have any photos to go by which is why I want an original top and bottom half of a seat for accuracy. Even if it is in bad shape.

It looks like the pointed seats were made from at least as far back to 1964 up to 1969.

Too computer unsavy for that. Detroit Metro -listed 1/31- still there tonight.Once in boat section punch Glastron in search icon,should be easier to find. I wrote down number and info in case the boat I am pursuing goes up in flames.This would be my second choice of a classic small speed machine.If you cannot find PM me and I will give you # etc.
I see BwanaDon live in the Detroit area he may be able to do some leg work for you.I would do it for a fellow FGer in my neck of the woods if asked.
