I noticed some interest in the sailing adventure in another post.
My wife and I used to cruise on our sailboat and wrote magazine articles along the way to help buy groceries. When I sold them, I only sold the first publication rights, so I still own them. Many are posted on this web page:
austinsailor.net/stindex.html
You can download them to your computer and read them there, or print them - no Kindle or other gadget needed.
Most are about about screw ups or problems, Most cruising is nice weather, laid back times and enjoyable. Nobody wants to read about a nice sunset, the cold margarita, the pleasant friends and places you meet, so stories usually end up being about the times the s**t hit the fan. Most of these stories are no exception to that rule.
It includes a couple stories about our sail down the East River and out into the Atlantic, right in front of the World Trade Center. That happened the first week of September, 2001. By the time I got the pictures developed, the towers weren't there.
