TOPIC: Aquabird

Anyone ever heard of a boat called Aquabird? I have a helm assembly and it has Aquabird on the center cap medallion. Believe the boat was 1961. Thanks.

Aquabird is just the name of the steering assembly. Quite common in the 50's & 60's.

Post pics of the boat, we'll tell you what it is.

About 20 plus yrs ago, tree fell on the boat of a family member. Nearly cut it in half!!! Boat junk, trailer badly bent. Was told uncle was coming over with a trailer to haul it to the dump, if I wanted anything, I had about an hour to remove it. Got the helm unit, a 1961 Royal Scott 43.7 hp, white with faded red hood, the remote control and cables, and the dash plate ignition panel with key. The motor is minus the impeller and prop, she said husband thought the pump wasn't working properly, removed it, couldn't find another (Internet wasn't popular yet) so he parked it, and for some reason, removed the prop, which we couldn't find. Have the motor and controls in my garage.

You should be able to get an impeller at NAPA. That's where I usualy buy most of mine and they had one for my 40 horse Scott.

Post pics of the steering wheel if you wouldn't mind. Wondering if the steering wheel was made by Nautalloy,a company that also made a style bow light and cleats called aquabird. jim

It's buried in the garage, will it say Nautalloy on it anywhere?

Kerry,It might. I think the bow light I have says nautalloy on the bottom and I know it's style was called aquabird.
