TOPIC: Pickers

Pickers 14 years 10 months ago #224

OK how many of yall have seen the new show Pickers on tv??
So far in the background I have seen what looks to be a Falls Flyer and in the episode about the Crosley collector there was an Aqua colored Aqua car.
In another episode there was a guy that collected busses and one of the busses had about 15 small motors stacked up inside the buss.

I wonder about that show.
Where do they get their "Valued At" prices?
Stumbling onto the White Castle house is pretty hard to believe.

That said my sister in Le Claire IA knows those guys and apparently they're ok.

I've seen on that show and I love it. You can learn a lot of history from the stuff those guys find. History channel 9:00 PM Mondays

When that trailer full of outboard motors came on the TV screen, my lady friend yelled out "Look...an Evinrude!" I was already salivating.

Go to the AOMCI meet in Tomakawk WI next August. You can buy anything you saw there for $25-35.

$25 to $35 , eh ? I'd better take my truck ! I don't seem to run across many such buys around here, but I suppose at a big show and swap meet there are some bargains to be had.

The AOMCI meets are great - old boats of all types, motors, and most everything for sale is quite reasonable. Most are just trying to move extra stuff out of their garages/shops.

We try to keep the prices in line at AOMCI. This is a 1950 7.5 hp Evinrude that I picked up on 02/05/10 for $20

I got a Sea Bee motor a Gator trailer with a bunch of fire wood (rotten wooden boat)for free if I took it all. As to be able to take the motor I gave the guy $20 as to keep if I did not return. Well I returned and loaded it all onto my flatbed. I went to get the $20 back...He told me that he could use the $20 but had no use for the motor in the back of the barn...He kept the money and got a spot cleaned in his side yard; and I got two motors and a good trailer out of the deal..

Well the Ing is too large..will post a smaller one after I change the size,
