TOPIC: The Avalon that got away.RIP!!!

I responded to a ad for a free glasspar avalon back in April, sight unseen. I was late getting the boat. New owner said it will be in a trailer race in November. I recall he said he had an el camino. Long story short. Here is a link to the boat I missed.


Now I think this is the race, he said he was going to paint it too...

I've seen a few of those races in the midwest.

Too bad on not getting the boat.

I just looked at a pretty clean Glasspar Tacoma, the deck was redone but it needs a transom job done and some new paint. Someone painted the top surface with cheap paint that's peeling off. The deck looked great but the transom was gone up in the wing areas. The eye bolts were just hanging loose.

The guy only wants $200 but I guess I've got enough projects going right now, with 13 in the yard and one more on the way tomorrow, I'm way beyond my limit. The Tacoma looks to be just a variant of the Avalon model? It looks the same as the one in the vid above.
