Welcome aboard Ben, and congrats on acquiring one of the classiest 'Glassics, IMHO. I can't offer much help in the restoration part, but maybe I can steer you in the right direction to get some info.

First, up in the header is a research-restoration tab. If you click that, there are several great posts/tutorials on the subject. Another tip is to use the Search Forum function in the upper right hand corner. You can start with Dorset Catalina, and see the four pages of posts concerning that subject. Then you could search transom replacement, floor replacement, etc..

Good luck with your project, post some pics when you get a chance.

HELLO B: WELCOME. We are just north of you In Chattanooga, around Soddy lake. Also Andrew member near Chester Frost county park. Is this the Athens Cuddy from the lady.? Just got a cuddy myself yesterday in quite good shape.

. Here is a pic of a sweet condition one up south of Knoxville where we have shows , mid May & Oct. Believe this one was in the Peter Hunn book , "Tailfins & Two tones."
....

. Andrew just finished a deck off Glasspar(& 2 more on schedule) & I have a 1/2 floor to do in a ski boat this spring. So you are welcome. Any other classics you have. ?

That was Chuck Roum's Catalina. Beautiful boat. Does anyone know how he's doing these days?

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Welcome to the forum, Ben... As Larry mentioned, You're right in our neighborhood- I live just across the lake from you in Hixson.

Those Catalinas are NICE boats- I've always liked them. I'd love to see some pics.

I'm out of town until Jan, up north in Chicago shipkeeping... When I get back to the area, I'd be happy to help you out with your floor/transom project- I've done a number of them in the past. It's FUN. No, really, it is... I promise. My latest project is here - www.agott.com/glasspar

So many classic boat 'enthusiasts' in our area- We'll have to have a rendezvous this summer!
