It looks like the fins were cut off and the rear lights were eliminated/covered up.
The poster also said he had talked to others that had the same type of boat.

I have not see any like this.

In the Post Fin Era some people who could not afford to shed those awful finned monstrosities would cut the fins off or down. They did the same with cars.

My guess is that's what happened here.

I don't understand?
My comment reflected the sentiment of the times - not my opinion.
I recall - for example - reading a Q & A column in a magazine in 1970. A woman wrote in asking what she could do... her car had big tail fins and she was embarassed by them. They suggested she go to a body shop and have them removed.

No...really.

how times change, last summer i tryed to make fins for a glass boat i had, no they did not look like they belonged on the boat. and when i was in high school (1970) i welded the back doors shut on my 1962 dodge, just so i had a 2 door. looked as bad as my fin project. frog
