TOPIC: "Down" to 9

"Down" to 9 13 years 10 months ago #20860

I'm trying to cut out the chaff, but man is it hard to do. I wanted to show off my cleaned up boat yard, but half of the yard is all that got arranged. All of these puppies are covered for winter now. I'll try to get the Skagit V8 uncovered sometime in the next month or two, to start working on the drive shaft. Needs a new cutlass bearing, strut adjustment and new stuffing box. I can hardly wait to feel 312 cubic inches of dual - carburated V8 POWER!

Line up from L to R:

Razorback Fury, Performer Havoc, Reinell Jetflite, Skagit 17 Skimaster V8.

Quite an enviable collection there Bruce, nice work. What's on the other side of the yard? (The other 5).

Wow! That is a nice fleet.
I am interested in seeing the Jetflite come to life when you do it.
I am with Mark, what other treasures are there?

Thanks guys.

As with many of us collectors, things have gotten out of hand. I can't stand to see a sweet classic get wrecked or butchered up if I can help it. I'm going to work on reducing the number of boats, starting with the ones I don't intend to keep. I have a friend with a lot of land that has given me the OK to store as many boats as I want. I declined, because this could get out of control real fast. If I was collecting beer cans or coins it would be different. Boats take up a lot of room.

The Jetflite ran all summer, but is retired 'till it gets a new transom.

Not pictured: '57 Trailorboat Savoy 15, '59 Skagit Skimaster 16 Hardtop, '60 Silverline Rambler 15, '61 Hydroswift Landau 17 hardtop, '63 Fleetcraft 18 ft. catamaran.

Time to sell some boats.........

Bruce,
Now that's a collection! Now how do you decide what to keep and what to sell?

By the way thanks again for the reed valves. I'll may just take you up on the gaskets. I didn't want to start and be down for the gaskets but since its winter I'm going to try and change them out. If I can't save them I'll drop you aline for the price.

If you're serious, it's available. Nice very complete boat. Sitting on a real nice trailer too.

Uh yeah. If the price is right. I would love to bring it back to Arkansas. It looked as if the windsheild was cracked from the previous picture.

alloriginal,
That's a great idea. She's already close to Razorback colors if I remember right!

Go SEC!

Looks to be the brown and tan but it will be (red and white) if I get it. I haven't restored a boat before but I have some boat factory friends that will help. They work at Crownline in Il.Looks like alot of work though. I saw a 58 Razorback here in Ar. for 100 bucks. Didn't have pictures though. It sure would be a head turner here in Razorback Territory. Bet that windshield would be tough to replace.

I used to work with a guy from Arkansas. His name was Rusty Basshound Ole Razorback. Played guitar and sang old Razorback songs.
I have several of his tapes. "From the Land of Tall Tales" is one.
I don't think he owned a boat. Just razorbacks.

I live here in Mountain View. We are the Folk capital of the world. Grandpa Jones used to live here and we are still friends with Ramona (his wife) and his children. There are several lakes here in the area and some of the prettiest mountains you ever seen. We have the Arkansas folk center which is a village of crafters from knife makers, gunsmith, blacksmiths, coopers, and wood carvers along with any other old time craft you could think of. We are on the white river and full of the friendliest folk in the world. Come visit us.

I have friend in Mountain Home and one in Flippin.
Went down there a few years back and really enjoyed my stay.
Even went boating on one of the lakes around there.
