TOPIC: Hello Guys

Hello Guys 13 years 10 months ago #20139

Hello Guys,
Its been years since I've been on the FG site,
But, I have been enjoying my 63 Seafair Sedan,
(except for a few monthes lost due to it sinking)
You guys were a huge help to me in the past
and I'm hoping you can be again,
I had a trailer rim loosen up & it was ruined,
I have tried to repair it, but no luck,
Its a 5 lug with 3.25" hole centers,
I would really appreciate it, if anyone can help me with this,
My boat is presently in the water at the marina,
and, I have no way to get it out till I get a rim,

btw,
I have also aquired a 1 owner 63 Citation,
Its showroom quality,
also,
I am going to look at (today) & will probably purchase
a one owner 1960 Wizard,

Please help if you can,

Thanks,
George

Well welcome back George. Where are you located? (All my trailers are four lug, but maybe somebody is close by enough to loan you a rim.)

PS - That Wizard listing now reads "SOLD"

Hey Mark & Everyone,
The Wizard is shown as sold,
but, it really hasn't been sold yet,
I don't really want or need it,
but, it looks like a good deal,

as far as where I've been all these years,
I've just been working my life away,
Thanks,
George

Hello Larry & All,
I think the Wayward Son went down end of last Nov.
I went to the houseboat late Friday evening,
I looked in the slip and it was gone,
I first thought it had been stolen,
After making & eating some dinner,
I went back outside & saw it was actually submerged,
I had to dive in about 45 degree water to hook it up,
I think the outside temp' was about 45 also,
I used 4 comealongs to pull it up,
It took me 8 1/4 hours to get it up & on the trailer,
I then took it to garage & spent all day Sunday drying it out,
I lost three seats, 2 radios, starter, some lighting, etc.
but, I had it back on the water in about two weeks,
I think it was under water for at least 3 days,
I think the plug was knocked out by debri in the water,
(Old Hickory is dirty lake due to the Cumberland running thru it)
I guess the sump pump ran till it drained both batteries,
But, lesson learned,
I now only leave it in the water while I'm at the houseboat,
But,
I'm forced to at the present time because I can't locate a rim,
Thats why I'm concerned,
Thanks,
George

George; As Larry (split) alluded too there is a large club of Glasspar boat owner in the eastern part of the country. There are about 30 seafair Sedan owners in the club and over 100 members total. The club is called the Florida Glasspar Club as Florida is where the club was founded but currently there are three chapters in the eastern U.S.. One is in Florida naturaly, one is based in Richmond Virginia called the Mid-Atlantic Chapter and one is based in Chicago called the Midwest Chapter. There are a few club members in your area and some near Tennessee and they have talked about forming a new chapter in your area. If you email me I will give you the information you need to hook up with Glasspar boat owners in your area that are in the club. No dues! Just boating fun. Welcome back George. I just looked at my trailer to verify. I have the 5 bolt pattern also. My rims and tires are 13" but with the five bolt pattern. I bought a spare at Lowe's believe it or not. It fits fine and was only about $45 with the tire if I remember right. I bought it about a year ago so they may have gone up since then. You should be able to get one at Home Depot also. I believe they're fairly common on utility trailers.
