I know that resin has a shelf life of about a year, what I do not know is how to tell if the resin is out dated.

I have never seen a best before date on a can but I must admit I have never undertaken what I am about to.
Any glass work that I have done was always completed with a couple of cans now I am looking a pails.

Have a great day

I certain there will be a ton of opinions here ....its one of those subjects..
I have been using epoxy for many years and I have only one time had an issue and it was the hardner that wouldnt kick & cure
it turned cloudy it contained too much moisture (my son left the lid off) I feel that was the reason

I currently have a drum thats 7 years old & Im still using it & the hardner
I have seen a couple smaller containers that stated 2 year shelf life....but they DO want you to buy more

I had a 5 gal pail that sat, unopened for about 4 yrs, called the supplier & they said it should be fine. Looked good when I opened it, did a couple of test batches, everything fine.
I'd say, if the color & consistency look OK, test it & use it.

Cheers

If it's kept cool and dry and out of the sun, it should be fine.

I left a gallon of laminating resin on my front pouch for a couple of weeks and it started to gel.

(it was in a clear plastic jug)
