mark, here are your airhorns so far,i will put them together in about an hour and post that pic too.
these horns were worse then the picture on ebay showed,so they arent perfect ,but not bad for old vintage horns.
whoever owned them before had painted them with silver paint,so all of that had to come off,i soaked them in paint thinner for awhile then sanded the heck out of them.
the inside of the trumpets were pretty bad,but lots of sanding fixed that then clear primer, then ground coat, then paint.
so heres what i have so far, there are 5 pics,im on dial up.then after they are together ill post that pic later.
mark im not going to put the hex screws back in im going to get stainless screws to replace them.
the pictures dont show the color right but i think they will match your boat pretty good,i hope, lol, they have a metal flake finish.john
the trumpets after removing paint splatter and then buffing.

Nothing more satisfying to me than Bringing something most people would throw out back to life and looking better than new! Great work! I love fixing old kitchen equipment and machinery like this!

They're looking great John, I'm sure the color will be just fine. I don't know why some digital cameras do that with colors, mine does the same thing sometimes. May have something to do with the light, I have noticed the pics sometimes make the same thing look different between indoor and outdoor photos. I'll be proud of them regardless, 'cause YOU did them! Thanks buddy, your check goes in the mail Friday. ;)

bobo, tahnks and yes its anodized enamel, its made to go over chrome, and is heat resistant up to 500 degrees acording to the company,so it can be used on engines.
andrew thank you,im thinking about doing some ,so i have a little money to put into the restoration of boats.
mark i went every where looking for stainless screws for around the top,and i do mean every where, lol, the horns take 10 by 24x 3/8s long screws,im going to have to send them to you like they are,and you will have to probaby order them online, ill ship them with just a couple of screws holding it all together until you can get others, john

That will be fine John, no worries. We've got some good resources here in the Atlanta area, I'll come up with some screws. Thank you very much for all you have done, I really appreciate your efforts!

mark your air horns shipped today, sorry it took a little longer then i had thought, they arent perfect but the chrome was really bad and inside the trumpets were badly pitted, but they came out ok.
remember to get stainless screws for the tops,i didnt tighten down the few regular screws i put in,i didnt want to scratch the finish, the horns original screws were 10x 24 x 3/8 they stuck down a little ,10x 24 x 1/4 MIGHT work, you will have to see when you get them, john

Santa (the Postman, or is that Postperson) came early this year. The horns arrived today, were waiting on my front porch when I got home. I held them in place to test fit them on the Glastron, they're going to fit just fine. I'll take some pics and post them when I get them mounted, after I get the compressor, s/s screws, etc.. They look great John, thanks again!

Re:mark's air horns are finished 13 years 9 months ago #21234

OK John,
Sorry you missed them
I did see the finish wasn't the best. But I know you paint them up nice. So I figured I'd point them your way. If I find any more I will let you know. My Larson has a nice single horn on it and it works!
I have found a flag staff for my bow light too and run a Larson pennant. Blue with white lettering. Boy I miss the water. It is going solid here now.
