This prop came on the '57 35HP engine I have.
It's a bronze/brass 9" diameter 2-blade prop.
It's marked:
-Michigan Prop Shop
-Cup
-48
It is also stamped "cupped"...and a icon that looks like a pair of tongs..
There are no other markings such as size and pitch.
Can anyone ID it?

That prop has been worked over a bit. Pretty much all of those Michigan 2-blades for the Big Twins started at least 10-inches in diameter. If yours is 9-inches, then it's been cut back. The "cupped" and "Prop Shop" markings tell that tale, too. Bottom line, without a prop gauge to measure it with, you're probably not going to be able to get the info you want on it...

Thanks,
I figured it was modified- as it was on an old 60's plywood hydroplane..

CUP-48 was a 10 1/4" dia X 15" pitch at birth. As others have said you have one that as been modified from it's original form and it'll take some doing to find out exactly what you have ended up with. Pure guesswork here, but it seems likely the diaeter was cut down to compensate for an increase in either cup or pitch to let it still reach the desired RPM with the changes. Like I said...guesswork on my part.

It is now on eBay...

There's another prop still on the '57 Johnson. I'll have to take a look at it and see what it's like. The fellow that had the hydroplane (these came from) was supposed to have been a very competitive racer in Ohio. Wish I had time to take a serious look at the '57 35HP mods he made.
