It has been a while since my last post. It was in the "old" forum. Thought I would give an update and mostly post pix. Finished the transom in 2 layers of 3/4 meranti and 2 layers of biax with epoxy. Splashwell is roughed in. The entire stringer system was reglassed. Got the new sole in. Bulkheads all new MDO. My son and I have been working lately on the cabin area. V-berth is shaping up. Enjoy.

It is hard to get good pix when she sits in the Costco house of plastic.

Back at it. More free time lately. I enjoy the woodworking, but not upside down. Can't wait to work on something vertical again.

Morning Artpop2,

You are doing a fantastic job on your boat. Thanks for sharing your progress. I am very impressed with the quality of your work.

I think its also terrific that you're doing it with your son. In years to come, he will look back on the old boat he and his dad rebuilt with many fond memories. Great time to help him become a good man through your father/son project. My hats off to you.

Thanks Todd, John, and Anura. I was really pleased last weekend when my son said he wanted the opportunity to work on the boat. He will choose boat restoring over video games any day. FYI for anybody doing a project with kids... SAFETY is very important. Always point out the dangers and constantly give them a "heads up". We have had two minor accidents. The first, I over estimated his strength holding a drill. The other was a fall off the stern when getting on-board. I now have stairs going up to the transom, and use hand tools as much as possible. I have him watching from a distance when doing things like ripping on the table saw. I do glass work when he is not around. I will show him that when he is a little older.

Great project and excellent work by the way. So glad your son is interested. Beats video games any time!!!!!!
