TOPIC: Embroidery & Steering wheel emblems...

Well, The wife got her new sewing/embroidery machine. She's just getting used to the software used to create the designs, but I sent her a Lake N Sea logo to see how it looked- I still need to clean the graphic up a bit, but it turned out pretty good for a first try-



I've been working on another project- Replicating the steering wheel emblems that I'm missing on a couple of boats. Being an artist can be helpful when I'm working on restoration projects, a lot ot the techniques I'd use in graphic arts carry over nicely

I want the 'domed' glass look, and I have finally got it figured out- These are scans, so it's tough to see the dimension in them, but they have a clear raised 'bubble' like the originals-



The one on the left, the Volksboat, was a first try, and I had a LOT of bubbles in the pour. I figured it out a little better for the lake N sea one, but still have some bubbles. I have the problem figured out, though- The material that I'm using is a 5 minute cure, I need to get a slower cure time to get all the bubbles out. I've got some 15 min at home, which should be perfect...

I'll be able to easily customize them for whatever boat I need 'em for- Or for motor badging, etc. It looks pretty similar to the original-



Or at least close enough to fool someone
