hi all, this is hard choice for me to make. so i hope you will help me out. i have 2 boats that i like and am going to fix one of them up. so one will have to go, as i cannot afford to do both. one is a 1965 crestliner sea scout, aluminun 14 ft runabout in very nice shape. the other is a 1966 glasstron ski flite, also in nice shape. iam going to use the 50 hp merc that is on the glasstron for the winner boat, i also have a 80 hp merc , but i think that may be too big? i am going to try to post some pix, but as you know i have had not much luck in that department. any input of which boat that i should do will help me make up my mind. thanks much, and if the pix do not post i'll try again. frog

While they're both pretty nice looking boats Frog, it would have to be the SkiFlite for me. (But then I'm biased, love the lines of the old classic Glastrons!)

I like the red & white boat. And you can never have too much hp!

My vote is keep the Glastron. Although the Crestliner is a very nice boat I'm not much for aluminum so....

Hi Guys,

It’s been years since I’ve posted here.

If you have room; keep them both! You can never have too many boats. Restore one and turn one into a reliable runner, don’t worrier about the cosmetics. This way if it gets scratch you won’t go bonkers. I know what I’m speaking about here and it has cost me dearly. Motorhead told me to do this year’s ago. I should have listened to him.

Hi Frog,

I have to agree with SK, If you can keep them both you'll have a spare. If you work on one this year and get it ship shape, then you can work on the second one as time, money and desire permit. You'll kick yourself in a couple years if you sell one.

We started with #1 in 2009, she leaked... bought #2 while #1 is getting a new hull. #2 Needs work this winter. O.K., so if you're like us, you need at least 3!

Frog now has the Glastron listed in the Glassifieds (w/o the Merc), I'd LOVE to get my hands on that one!
