Got the deck stained and two coats of varnish. Let the glow begin! Another 8 coats or so and she should begin to look good. I love the smell of varnish in the fall!! Still beautiful weather here on the Oregon coast for varnishing. I've got another week or so of 75 degree weather so that should at least give me time for a good varnish base. Then on to fairing the glass hull. Still having fun. Mike

Looks great Mike. Bow repair came out well. I'm scoping out the projects for the fall too. Will finish the 59 Crosby Ranger for spring. Now I know the 60 Missile is a runner, I'm going to strip the yellow and white paint, glass it, then repaint it. 56 Century Resorter will be started over the winter. 59 Penn Yan Cartop will get the woodwork done for new canvas come spring. Last to do on the 61 Power Cat 18DC is make the big wrap around windshield for the top. Plenty to do.

Wow Brian! You are one busy dude. Thanks again for all your encouragement and suggestions. Makes my hobby a real pleasure and not a pain. I'm learning that doing the right thing right the first time is a lot less stressful. Mike on a 75 degree day on the left coast.

Well Mike, you're an inspiration. The more I work, the more I realize I need not. Been at it almost 40 years. I love what I do. The science is interesting. I have projects out the ying yang. One I just started with Johns Hopkins University will run at least 5 years. I can't imagine I'll see that one to completion. You're doing what retired guys should do; what interests them and gives them meaning. Would love to get you and Dave Lemke over on the Power Cat site together for some serious fishing. It would be a hoot. Last week I took out my deer rifle. It took 5 minutes to get the dust, etc. cleaned off the scope, stock and barrel. I polished everything up. Then I looked at my fly fishing gear. All this stuff has been sitting for years unused. Lots of time in rearing the family. But too much time flailing against the beast. You've got it right. I'll get there. Great work Mike.
